Citizen Committee Openings - BPAC & Tree Authority

CITIZEN COMMITTEE OPENINGS

 

            Springboro City Council is seeking citizens interested in serving on the city's Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) and Tree Authority.  There is one open seat on the Tree Authority and one open seat on the BPAC.  Applicants must be registered voters and reside in the City of Springboro.

                       

            The Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee is a five-member committee that meets the fourth Monday of each month at 6:00 PM at the SPARC and Go, 320 S. Main Street.  The committee was formed in 2009 to implement a Bicycle Friendly Community Action Plan to promote bicycle and pedestrian usage in the community.  The BPAC’s primary responsibility is to carry out the Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan adopted in 2013 including recommendations in support of the long-range development of a bicycle and pedestrian network and bicycle and pedestrian friendly programs in Springboro.

 

            The Tree Authority is a five-member committee that meets the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 PM at the SPARC and Go, 320 S. Main Street.  The Tree Authority’s primary responsibility is to support and promote the reforestation, preservation and maintenance of trees in our city through various programs and services.  The Tree Authority participates in several programs including the Tree City USA Awards Program –Springboro has been recognized as a Tree City for 21 consecutive years– and the annual celebration of Arbor Day with a tree planting ceremony.
